Lazard has opened a representative office in Beijing, making it the latest foreign investment bank to try to gain a foothold in the Chinese market.

Lazard said the new office will enhance the firm's ability to represent Chinese clients looking to expand outside China. The move will also help Lazard assist clients outside China finding investment opportunities there.
