It’s been four years since Brian Heyworth left HSBC Asset Management to join Lansdowne Partners. The former banker admits the role “came out of the blue”.

Heyworth arrived at the start of a new era for Lansdowne. Founded by Sir Paul Ruddock and Steven Heinz in 1998, it was once one of Europe’s premier hedge funds, managing north of $20bn at its peak.
