Julius Baer hunts Asian expansion

Swiss private bank says it has more than $1bn for Far Eastern deals

Julius Baer chief executive Boris Collardi said today that the Swiss private bank is looking for merger and acquisition opportunities in Asia.

Collardi told reporters at a press conference in Singapore: "We would love to be able to do something (in Asia) but the trouble is everyone wants to buy...no one wants to sell." He said there was also "no more desperate sellers" in Europe.
