JPMorgan has turned a spotlight on the US Virgin Islands, claiming it protected convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein at his private compound based in the territory.

The Wall Street bank made the claims in a 23 May filing, the latest in what is amounting to a bitter legal fight that is also set to see the deposition of chief executive Jamie Dimon on 26 May, amid allegations the bank enabled Epstein’s crimes,
