Jefferies has raised five investment bankers to managing director in Europe and the Middle East as banks continue their annual promotions.

The US investment bank, which has been hiring senior dealmakers to compete with larger rivals in the global dealmaking league tables, has promoted two from its equity capital markets team in Europe as part of a broader class of new MDs, according to people familiar with the matter.
