The former Bear Stearns banker gets his second big promotion in a year

Jeff Urwin, a Bear Stearns banker who was named in the first wave of senior appointments when the firm was acquired by JP Morgan in 2008, has been promoted to a senior role for the second time in a year.

Jes Staley, chief executive of JP Morgan's investment bank, said in an internal memo yesterday that Urwin has been appointed head of global investment banking coverage, capital markets and mergers and acquisitions.
