Japan economist quits Merrill

Merrill Lynch's chief economist in Japan has reportedly become the latest executive to quit an investment bank in Asia amid a string of high profile job moves in the region.

Jesper Kroll, who has worked for Merrill for eight years, left the bank last week. A spokesman for Merrill told Bloomberg the move was "personal" but declined to give further details.
