Jacob Rothschild, St James’s Place founder, dies at 87

Lord Jacob Rothschild, who founded what became the UK's largest wealth manager, St James's Place, has died aged 87.

Rothschild worked at the banking dynasty's lender, N M Rothschild & Sons, for two decades before setting up J Rothschild Assurance Group, the business that became SJP, in 1991.
