IT skills shortage in UK has ended

IT sector skills are officially no longer in short supply, following the decision by WorkPermits (UK), the division of the Home Office responsible for issuing work permits, to remove IT positions from its shortage occupations list.

The list enables employers to apply for work permits for non-EU staff using a fast-track procedure eliminating the need to demonstrate that a recruitment search has failed to identify suitable UK or EU workers to fill the position.
