Investigation launched into EY audit of NMC Health

The troubled hospital firm asked to be delisted from the London Stock Exchange last week

The UK’s financial watchdog has launched a formal investigation into the audit work produced by Ernst & Young for the troubled medical-care group NMC Health.

In a 4 May announcement, the Financial Conduct Authority said it had opened a probe on 15 April into the financial statement produced by Big Four firm for NMC for the year ending December 2018. The investigation will be led by the watchdog’s enforcement division.
