IMF hands senior posts to US and China

The appointments follow US and China's backing of new IMF chief Christine Lagarde

The International Monetary Fund on Tuesday named White House economic aide David Lipton, known for his crisis-management skills, as the fund's next No. 2 official.

It also tapped former deputy governor of the People's Bank of China, Zhu Min, to be one of its four deputy managing directors.
