Johannes Huth has fought off his nearest rival Todd Fisher to head the 18-strong London office of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts and be responsible for the US private equity group's European business.

The promotion came after Ned Gilhuly, a joint managing director at KKR and head of its London office and European operations decided to return to the US early next year, as reported exclusively by Financial News last month.
