HSBC has decided to keep its private banking business in Monaco, having considered a sale of the unit earlier this year.

The UK bank said in a regulatory filing today that it had decided to retain the business after reviewing unsolicited expressions of interest. HSBC said: "Following completion of this review and consideration of expressions of interest the decision has been made to retain the business."
