HSBC will “move at pace” on its sweeping reorganisation, its chief executive said, as it prepares to cut senior jobs in a bid to boost returns and simplify its business.

The UK lender plans focus job cuts on “senior roles” in the coming months as it looks to overhaul its business, chief executive Georges Elhedery told journalists on a call during its third-quarter results.
