HSBC’s incoming chief executive is mulling plans to strip out layers of middle management and reduce the number of country heads at the UK lender.

Georges Elhedery, who was named as HSBC’s new chief executive in July, is considering reducing complexity at the UK lender and naming new bankers in key positions, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter.
