HgCapital has bought a Danish business that provides cloud-based accounting software for small and medium-sized businesses, amid an active period for private equity acquisitions of European software companies.

London-based HgCapital said in a statement on Monday that it has bought Copenhagen-based e-conomic in an off-market transaction for an undisclosed amount.
