Herbert Smith Freehills is to permanently give its lawyers the right to hybrid working arrangements, in a sharp break with its numerous rivals that are calling their employees back to the office.

HSF’s chief executive told Financial News that the law firm has enshrined the right of employees to work flexibly as part of a wide-ranging deal with its staff rolled out after the pandemic. Its current policy allows them to spend 40% of their time working from home.
