The £350m (€573.2m) London Borough of Newham pension fund has appointed Harbour Vest Partners to manage a £7m private equity fund of funds mandate.

It is understood that competition for the portfolio, which was tendered last year, was extremely close, with Adams Street, Harbour Vest and Pantheon Ventures, all private equity firms, strongly in the running.
