Goldman on board for potential €30bn Italian bank deals

Goldman Sachs' appointment as co-adviser to Unicredito Italiano, the Italian bank in merger talks with German rival HVB Group, means that it now has an advisory role on three potential Italian banking deals together worth nearly €30bn ($37bn).

Banking sources confirmed that Goldman has been appointed co-adviser to Unicredito alongside Merrill Lynch.
