GMT Communications Partners, which was last month named one of the world’s healthiest private equity firms, has hired an executive from larger rival Cinven amid a rise in the number of hires between buyout firms.

Media and telecommunications-focused GMT has appointed Stefan Franssen as a partner. Franssen previously spent eight years at Cinven, where he worked as a principal in its technology, media and telecoms team.
