Mack joins mining giant's board

Former Morgan Stanley chairman and chief executive is one of three board-level additions at newly-merged Glencore Xstrata

Glencore Xstrata, the newly merged mining giant, has recruited former Morgan Stanley chairman John Mack and current Bloomberg chairman Peter Grauer as independent directors among three additions to its board.

The appointments, which were announced in a statement by Glencore Xstrata this morning, mark the first moves to replenish the miner's board since shareholders voted all former Xstrata directors out of their roles at last month's first annual meeting since the merger.
