Gardner quits Merrill's pensions operation

Rob Gardner has become the second senior member of Merrill Lynch's insurance and pensions solutions group to quit in four weeks. The team's head, Dawid Konotey-Ahulu, left last month.

Gardner is leaving the bank to set up his own business, a spokesman for the bank confirmed.
