Fund managers brace for meagre 2024 bonuses: ‘There will be some big winners and some big losers’

Fund managers are being told to expect another lacklustre year for bonuses, with headhunters warning of “difficult messaging” for those who will end 2024 feeling short-changed.

Asset managers have had another challenging year, with some of the UK’s biggest listed fund management groups posting large investor outflows. Others have laid off staff in an attempt to control rising costs, as firms are forced to continue to invest in growth markets and build scale.
