Fund CEOs on UK stocks in 2025: ‘It’s hard to be bearish’

Some of the City’s biggest names are bullish on the outlook for domestic companies in 2025

UK equities have been firmly out of favour with investors for several years, with funds focused on domestic companies suffering their worst 12 months on record in 2023 after investors yanked around £30bn.

Political instability and investor preference for booming US stocks have been cited as some of the reasons for waning appetite, with the UK government introducing several measures aimed at boosting investment in domestic companies.
