Fund CEOs fret over geopolitical risk in ‘crucial year’ for elections

Executives from LGIM, Northern Trust and St James’s Place fear uncertainty in a year where more than half the world’s population will head to the polls

Fund bosses say geopolitics is one of their most pressing concerns in the months ahead as elections take place across some of the world’s most powerful nations.

“I worry about geopolitics,” Michelle Scrimgeour, chief executive of Legal & General Investment Management told the Investment Association’s annual conference on 5 June.
