FTSE Russell plans to launch indices tracking private assets later this year, becoming the latest provider tapping into the sector’s explosive growth.

The London Stock Exchange Group-owned business has signed a “proposed partnership” with US investment firm StepStone to jointly develop private asset indices, data and analytics products, according to a statement.
