FTSE 100 on course for worst week in five months

UK blue-chip stocks slipped Friday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 headed toward its worst weekly performance in five months, but also as Rio Tinto led gains for the key mining sector, MarketWatch reports.

The FTSE 100 turned lower, down less than 1 point at 7,118.40, feeling the weight of losses among consumer, utility and oil and gas shares. But the basic materials and financial sectors advanced.
