European stocks rise after brighter eurozone data

European stocks edged higher Tuesday, aided by gains for miners, but the regional benchmark’s advance was held back by the worst performance for HSBC shares in more than a year.

The Stoxx Europe 600 was up 0.2% at 371.88, but the financial group was down nearly 1%. The pan-European index on Monday rose 0.2%.
