Former LSE chief Casey joins London law firm

Gavin Casey, the former chief executive of the London Stock Exchange who was ousted in September 2000, has joined Orchard, the London-based law firm.

Casey was forced to resign from the LSE following the failure of its merger talks with Deutsche Börse to form the iX-international exchanges, as the LSE was facing a hostile takeover bid from OM Gruppen, the Swedish exchange operator. He was replaced by Clara Furse.
