Former Deutsche Bank CEO Rolf Breuer, who oversaw Bankers Trust takeover, dies aged 86

Rolf Breuer, the former Deutsche Bank chief executive who oversaw its $10bn acquisition of Bankers Trust more than two decades ago, has died at the age of 86.

Breuer, who led Deutsche Bank for five years from 1997 and spent most of his professional career at the German lender, passed away after a long illness on 22 May, the bank said in a statement.
