Tributes flooded in for Alex Fortescue, the managing partner of London-based private equity firm Epiris who died in May. Figures from across the buyout industry shared their memories of the 55-year-old following his death after an incident while cycling.
In 2011, Fortescue joined Epiris as chief investment partner when it was known as Electra Partners, before its re-brand to its current name. He led and worked on a swathe of Epiris investments including the auction house Bonhams and restaurant operator The Big Table, which includes Bella Italia, Las Iguanas and Café Rouge.
