As the global downturn bites and fundraising becomes an ever more onerous task, funds may come from corporates handing over the management of their venture funds to venture capitalists.

Don Laurie, a management consultant and author, says companies need to learn the skills of venturing or the double-digit growth called for by shareholders will not materialise, especially in the teeth of a post-September 11 downturn.
