A female director at Coutts is suing the company for more than £400,000, claiming she faced “unspoken sexism” and a “triple-glazed” glass ceiling while working at the private bank.

Donna Ball, a commercial banker who has worked at Coutts since 2010, claimed she was allegedly denied promotions, paid less than her male peers and treated unfairly when she protested. She is suing the bank in a London employment tribunal. The bank denies discriminating against her and said it paid her fairly.
