FCA proposes relaxation of rules on research bundling

The Financial Conduct Authority is looking at reintroducing research bundling after the separation of research and execution services led to less analyst coverage and liquidity in UK equities.

The regulator has put out a consultation to allow for the “optionality” of rebundling where asset managers and other buy side firms could pay for research as part of a package that includes other trade services
