Barclays has been fined £40m by the City watchdog for failing to disclose arrangements with Qatari entities amid emergency fundraising during the 2008 financial crisis.

The bank’s conduct in its October 2008 capital raising was “reckless and lacked integrity”, the Financial Conduct Authority said in a 25 November statement.
