Ex-BGI Dunn takes the chair at Hewlett-Packard

Funds predict break up of the firm

Patricia Dunn, former chief executive at Barclays Global Investors, has been appointed chairman of Hewlett-Packard, the US-based personal computer giant, to replace Carly Fiorina who was fired yesterday.

Dunn has been promoted from her previous position as non-executive director.
