UK stocks rise as pound pulls back

UK stocks rose Tuesday, aided by gains for supermarket shares and a pullback from around 15-month highs in the pound against the US dollar, MarketWatch reports.

The FTSE 100 index rose 0.2% to 7,271.27, led by oil and gas and industrial shares. But consumer goods and basic material shares declined. The index on Monday rose 0.5%, breaking a four-session losing streak.
