European institutions abandon relative returns

More than half of Europe's top 200 pension funds and insurance companies have abandoned traditional peer comparison of investment returns in favour of absolute return strategies, according to a survey by JP Morgan Fleming Asset Management.

A further quarter said they were considering doing the same to ensure their liabilities were covered.
