European fund manager pay gains beat UK peers amid Brexit ‘uncertainty’

Europe saw 'less impact of Covid restrictions, Brexit and the continuing shift from discretionary to tracking' investment mandates in 2020

UK fund management staff were warned this time last year about their pay and bonuses, with the spread of the Covid pandemic dashing hopes they would be awarded the same double-digit increases some of them were handed in 2019.

As a result, fund management employees saw only modest increases to pay and bonuses in 2020. But their counterparts in others parts of Europe fared much better.
