EU sets June deadline for Ice-NYSE review

European antitrust authorities will deliver their verdict on the $10bn merger by June 24

The European Commission will give its verdict on IntercontinentalExchange's bid to buy NYSE Euronext by late June, in what will be a key hurdle for the Atlanta-based exchange's landmark $10bn acquisition.

The European Union's Directorate General for Competition, which oversees antitrust issues on behalf of the Commission, has set a provisional deadline of June 24 for reviewing the deal, according to a notice on its website today.
