EU must be bolder on CO2 cuts, say investors worth €33tn

European Commission president is set to announce a new emissions reduction target

A group of pension funds and asset managers with €33tn (£30tn) under management has called on the EU to be “ambitious” when it sets out its latest CO2-cutting targets tomorrow, and pledge to slash emissions by more than half within a decade.

European Commission president, Ursula von der Leyen, is set to announce a new emissions reduction target on 16 September.
