ESpeed shares tumble as judge throws out patent case

Shares in eSpeed, the electronic bond network, tumbled more than 11% yesterday after a US judge threw out a lawsuit alleging rival inter-bank broker Icap infringed one of its patents.

The surprise ruling came just hours before US district court judge Kent Jordan was set to impanel a jury in Delaware to try the case.
