A team of senior private equity figures are planning to launch a European buyout shop targeting defence and cyber-security deals, as geopolitical tensions and armed conflicts give rise to more investment in the sector.

The new firm, which is called ETNA, comprises private equity veterans from Germany and Denmark, according to people familiar with the situation.
