Hedge fund had sought $456m in damages over 2022 debacle

The UK’s Supreme Court has refused to hear an appeal from Elliott Investment Management in its case against the London Metal Exchange for cancelling $12bn in nickel trades three years ago.

The Supreme Court refused Elliott’s permission to appeal “on the ground that the appeal does not raise an arguable point of law”, according to an update on its website.
