A victory for Donald Trump in the US presidential election will not spell the end of the Inflation Reduction Act, according to Ninety One’s chief sustainability officer, but ESG investors will still face a tough time in the run up to the November contest.

Trump has emerged as the presumptive nominee for the Republican Party. He will square off against incumbent Democratic president Joe Biden in the election held on 5 November.
