Dawid Konotey-Ahulu recounts how in 2019 he was talking to one of his colleagues in Angel Court, an office block in the heart of the City. They were standing by the escalators in the lobby of the building where Redington, the investment consultancy he co-founded in 2006, is located.

As they spoke, he noticed that several people coming into the building would show him something.
