One of Europe’s most senior figures in private equity has waded into the debate over the UK government’s plans to shake up carried interest taxation, warning that it could impact where dealmakers will be based.

The Labour Party is currently mulling whether to close a tax break for buyout bosses that allows them to pay a lower rate of capital gains tax on part of their investment profits, sparking fears of an exodus to more tax-friendly jurisdictions.
