The boss of private bank Coutts has announced his resignation, following CEO of parent bank NatWest Dame Alison Rose out the door amid a storm over the handling of Nigel Farage’s accounts.

Peter Flavel has stepped down by “mutual consent” with immediate effect, Coutts’ acting CEO Paul Thwaite said in a statement.
