Collins Stewart Tullett, the UK broker and fund manager, is poised to start slashing jobs at Prebon after shareholders approved its plan to buy the rival UK broker for £125m (€182m).

The group plans to merge the Prebon and Tullett businesses in an attempt to replicate the success of larger rival Icap.
