Clariant adds investor protection

Clariant, the Swiss chemicals company, will later today sell a €500m ($603m) bond with a new type of investor protection covenant after it was tipped as a takeover target last month.

The company was reported by Swiss weekly newspaper SonntagsZeitung to be a bid target for private equity groups CVC Capital Partners and Permira.
